Red Cross Club

red-cross-club

The Red Cross Club at G.D. Somani Memorial School brings together young volunteers from Std IX who are passionate about making a difference. With a focus on spreading awareness about safety and community service, this club empowers students to understand the importance of service and the positive impact it can have on society. Each year, the students collect a substantial amount of grains to distribute to those in need. Additionally, they participate in poster making and essay writing competitions, which aim to foster a humanitarian outlook and raise awareness about societal issues. Through engaging activities and initiatives, we nurture leadership skills, resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of service among our students.

Girl Guiding

Girl Guiding is a global movement that empowers and educates girls and young women, enabling them to reach their full potential and become confident, responsible, and active members of society. Established in 1910 by Lord Robert Baden-Powell and his sister Agnes Baden-Powell, Girl Guiding is now one of the largest voluntary organizations for girls and young women worldwide. Our Girl Guiding club follows the core principles of building character, developing leadership skills, and fostering community engagement. Through a wide range of activities, girls are encouraged to explore their strengths, develop new skills, and pursue their interests in a supportive and inclusive environment. We aim to cultivate self-confidence, resilience, and empowerment among our members.

Recognizing the global significance of English as the "Lingua Franca," this club plays a vital role in honing the linguistic abilities and literary skills of our budding students. Through the awakening of their oral and aural sensibilities and the enhancement of their oratory skills, the club aims to help them shed inhibitions and instill confidence.

By inculcating these abilities, the students can hold their own in any surroundings and become a force to be reckoned with in these challenging and competitive times.
